Producing Artistic Director: Adrian J. Gutierrez - is the founder/creator of The Theatre Institute. He also serves as the executive and education director for the organization. After studying Drama Education at MDCC he found a home as the first Artistic Director of the Coral Gables Youth Center Theatre where he designed and directed such productions as The Wizard of Oz, Stand and Deliver, The Sound of Music, Rapunzel, Romeo and Juliet, Beauty and the Beast, The Beverly Hillbillies and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. While fulfilling the need for an enrichment of the dramatic arts he also developed and directed drama education programs at schools such as Miami Edison Middle, Coconut Grove Elementary, Allapatah Middle, and The JCC of Miami Beach. As well as officiating the task of teacher and director, he volunteers his time each year to the Dade County Youth Fair as an Assistant Superiendent. Most recently he implemented and instructed the very first drama program at the Hebrew Academy Elementary and Middle School in Miami Beach. Currently he serves as a Theatre Instructor for Arts for Learning Miami teaching at local inner city schools through the After School All Stars program. Production Coordinator: Elizabeth Ferrer is a college graduate from Florida International University where she earned a BA in Theatre. Liz is also a professional makeup artist. Liz's most memorable roles at FIU were: Ann in Balm in Gilead; Joan, in the rock musical “Hair”, and Olga, a Kit Kat Girl, in the musical “Cabaret”. This is Liz's first year working with TISF, and she couldn't be more grateful to be working with such a wonderful and talented group of people. Drama Specialist: Emily-Jayne Frail received her B.F.A. in Acting from Florida International University and has also trained in New York at the Actors Movement Studio Conservatory under an array of master teachers. An Irene Ryan Nominee, Emily's most recent credits include “Anna in the Tropics”, “Vagina Monologues”, “Balm in Gilead”, “Dracula”, “Hair”, and “Fiddler on the Roof”. Emily is also a solo performance artist, and her original work “Where is Ana Mendieta?” debuted last spring. Currently she teaches Performing Arts in Miami. Dance Specialist: Corin Saka teaches the fundamentals of dance and creative expression at several studios in Miami including Rhythm City. She is a dance teacher and has a strong Theatre background. Through performances and entertainment this is truly her passion and drive in life. Music Specialist: Mabel Mir is the proud drama teacher at Hialeah High School’s Troupe 1576. Even though she loves teaching, Mabel continues to develop her career in theater. She is mostly known for her fresh approach to directing. Her most recent works include the sold shows of “Alice in Wonderland” and “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Even though she loves directing, her passion also lies in acting. She was recently seen as Al in “Balm in Gilead”. Mabel Mir received her training with a degree in Theater from Florida International University. School Shows Coordinator: Rachell Paston – has had the privilege of performing in 11 Broadway shows. Audiences might recognize her as Chava in “Fiddler on the Roof” with Hershel Birnardi on Broadway, as well as Flower Drum Song with Jack Soo on Broadway. Currently she dedicates herself to booking children shows all throughout the Broward and Dade county area working with companies like the Hollywood Playhouse and The Theatre Institute. Guest Director: Ivana Diez - is a special gem rarely seen in the thespian community. After her training in Theatre at MDCC-South she continued her studies at Florida State University and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. One of her greatest accomplishments has been receiving the award from the Florida Association of Community Colleges for Outstanding Student Achievement in her work as assistant director in "Lend Me a Tenor". Some of her other Technical credits include: "The House of Ramon Iglesia", "Annie", and "Venetian Twins". She has also performed in the productions of "Working" and "The Odd Couple" (female version). Most recently she worked with the Florida Grand Opera as an Assistant Stage Manager.
